Good hair makes for good workouts

It's a fact, right? Looking good and feeling good go hand in hand.

In keeping with my 2018 resolution to eat better and be more consistent about working out, I teamed up with my amazing friend Daniella, who also happens to be my hairstylist and favorite photographer, to create an easy and chic workout hair style.

Daniella does muay thai and I do Orange Theory, so we knew that the hold and function of whatever hairstyle we did would be just as important as the way it looked. Being brilliant as she is, Daniella came up with this adorable double bun up-do. As someone who is prone to headaches, I'm always cautious when it comes to ponytails. Additionally, the last thing that should be hurting or getting in my way during a workout is my hair, so I was 100% on board with the dual bun option from the get go.

Daniella broke down everything she did to create my look. Here's how you do it:

  1. Lightly tease the top of your hair

  2. Pull back half of your hair on top and put it into a high ponytail

  3. Put the bottom of your hair into another ponytail

  4. Grab the top ponytail, wrap it once and tie it into a know then pin it down with bobby pins. Do the same thing with the bottom ponytail

  5. Lightly pull out small pieces in the front of your hair to add softness

  6. Sweat and shine!

I loved this look because it not only stayed in place while we worked out, but it still looked great at the end of our workout (in spite of all of the sweat and movement). If you're looking for a style that can transition from the gym to whatever you're doing after your workout then you should definitely try it out!

Stay fit and fabulous, LA!
